How to render and download an MP4

Choose a preset or custom settings, render, and download the video or its audio.

Steps

  1. Open the Export tab.
  2. Pick a preset: YouTube, Shorts · Reels · TikTok or Instagram feed. Or set each option under Custom:
    • Format: the aspect ratio
    • Resolution: 720p, 1080p, 1440p or 4K. Sizes larger than your footage are unavailable.
    • Frame rate: match your footage or choose one
    • Codec: H.264 (plays everywhere), HEVC (smaller files) or ProRes (for editing)
    • Quality
    • Captions: burned in, or a separate .srt
  3. Click Export MP4. The panel shows the estimated size and render time. Editing and chat lock while it renders.
  4. When it's ready, click Download, or Open to view it in a new tab.
  5. Download Audio MP3 gives you just the soundtrack. Re-render makes a new file after more changes.

Tips

  • You can leave the page while it renders. The video will be ready when you come back.
  • To stop a render, click Cancel export at the top of the editor.
  • Exporting needs a paid plan once your trial is used up.
