## Hide captions

Click the **eye icon** on the **Captions** lane in the timeline. The lane shows **Hidden**, and captions are off in the preview and in MP4 renders. Click the eye again to bring them back.

## Turn captions off completely

Open **Captions** › **Style** and untick the audio under **Caption speech from**.

## Only for one export

On the **Export** tab, set **Captions** to **Separate .srt**. The MP4 has no burned-in captions and you get a subtitle file to upload alongside it.
