## Before the first cut

Put the length in your prompt: "Make a 45 second vertical short…" or "Keep it under 3 minutes." There is no separate length setting.

## After the first cut

1. Ask in chat, and say what to keep: "Cut this down to about 45 seconds. Keep the clearest explanation and the funny moment at the end."
2. For a big change, Novacut may describe what it plans to keep and ask "Shall I make that cut?" Reply "Yes, go ahead."
3. The new length shows above the timeline.

## What to expect

The length is a target. Novacut may land a second or two over or under to avoid cutting mid-sentence. Slowing a clip down makes the edit longer.
